I am a Gilt member and I often scan the men’s, women’s and home section of the site. While on the women’s section, this post “Ladylike” jumped out at me. I wanted to share as I often wonder if women are drifting away from these classical looks that dominated NY style in the 60s. Check out the video and let me know what you think. Find more info here at Gilt/Ladylike.

“We probably have a certain ’60s-set tv show to thank for the widespread resurgence of the era’s classically elegant silhouette, but no matter where it came from, we’d still adore this trend. Think boxy cardigans, curve-hugging sheath dresses, and precious little clutches—perfect for getting in touch with your inner uptown girl.”

Yesterday, I got a call from my friend about an emergency. I immediately panicked. I thought that because he works in the banking industry and he is technically my banker, I was about to hear bad news how I had lost my money. Turns out he had gotten tickets to the show from yours truly (Anna) and wanted me to tag along. How could I refuse? The Show was filled with prints that range from eye popping colour to conservative black and white. There was also the occasional fur and leopard prints. The shapes were mod and the music matched the theme. Below are highlights from the show which I managed to capture with my Canon 60D w/18-135 mm lens – I wish I had the 70-200 mm f2.8 lens but Canon hasn’t sponsored me yet.

This commercial was shot for The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. It is very stylish and elegant with just the right amount of weird and mystery. I love it…

From left to bottom: Zara swim shorts ($19), Topman T-Shirt ($6), H&M Soft/Thin Cotton T-Shirt ($17)

I am the kind of guy who loves colours. I am also quite dark in the summer so colours pop on me. How dark you ask? Well, according to my cousin I have enough tan for 6 people.

Growing up on an island where almost everyone is like a peacock, it became quite natural to parade in my Sunday best wearing the likes of pink and even fushia. When I was about 9 years old, my favorite shorts where bright cyan with magenta trimming and on the left side there was the cowboy cartoon character Yosemite Sam.

My girlfriend always wonder where I get my sense of style but little does she know that it came from not really having any style sense at all. But that is how creativity builds. It first starts by realising what works and what will never ever work in this lifetime or 5th, 6th, 7th … or Nth dimension.
